Synopsis

Ian McKellen, who received a 2009 Emmy nomination for his portrayal, reprises his recent stage performance as the Bard's tragic king in a special television adaptation. Directed by Trevor Nunn, the broadcast features nearly the entire original cast of the sold-out Royal Shakespeare Company production, which first appeared in Stratford-Upon-Avon in April 2007.
