GRAND SUMO Highlights — 2020 Kyushu Basho
The autumn’s grand sumo tournament unfolded this year with a poignant shift. Traditionally slated for Fukuoka on Japan's southern island of Kyushu, the event – held November 8th through 22nd at Tokyo’s iconic Ryōgoku Kokugikan – was relocated as a precaution against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The Sumo Association made the necessary adjustment to ensure the safety of wrestlers and fans, bringing this significant competition back to its traditional home in Tokyo.
