The signs aren't positive regarding the show’s second season. Although the initial run was amusing, clever, subtly perceptive, and sharp, this new installment disappoints. As expected, "the point" is immediately obvious in the first episode and remains a constant presence throughout—covering topics like different ways of living/sexuality, feminism, diversity, and so on. When it finally gets to the narrative itself, it feels weak and restrained, occasionally bordering on unintentionally absurd, and I personally didn’t find it humorous at all. Even David Tennant and his fellow actors couldn't rescue this from a slump into ordinariness and lecturing, which is where it seems to have landed. I gave up after watching just two episodes. Honestly, I can’t understand how something with so much potential could become so uninspired and lifeless, but that’s the reality. Basically, I experienced it as being preachy, overwrought, boring, hesitant, and most of all, not funny.
