Synopsis

Moist von Lipwig, a man whose career had been built on deception, found himself ensnared by the authorities and sentenced to death under the false name of Arthur Spangler. A brief confinement in prison followed, culminating in a hanging that, for reasons unknown, failed to bring about his demise. He was then presented before Patrician Havelock Vetinari, who offered a stark choice: accept the position of Postmaster, or face execution.
