I chose to view this program even with all the bad feedback I’d read because of Melissa McCarthy. Her comedic talent is so strong that she can sometimes make a less-than-stellar production worthwhile. The series isn't particularly good. The initial pair of episodes gave me some optimism, as there were genuinely funny moments and just enough decent writing to hold my attention. However, the subsequent two installments erased all those positive impressions, and I’m honestly not entirely certain why that happened. It seemed to soften its approach, attempting to broaden the storyline, which is what I think was the problem. I won't explain further right now, since at least one of them contains a plot development that would spoil things if I discussed it. The quality dropped off enough that I’ve chosen to put watching it on hold for now. Maybe I will return to it later, maybe not.
