With the planned entertainment for prom suddenly unavailable, Principal Figgins turned to New Directions to fill the void, a decision that drew considerable displeasure from prom coordinator Sue Sylvester. Tensions rose as the contest for prom king and queen intensified, complicated further by the unexpected reappearance of Jessie St. James.
