Synopsis

The mansion, once the residence of a prosperous abolitionist, held a significant place on the Underground Railroad. It served as a threshold to liberty for hundreds of enslaved people, but for many, it was also their final destination—a place of arrival marked by profound physical suffering and, often, death.
