While not reaching the heights of *The Boys*, this series suffers from being fairly standard thanks to its college-aged characters and a plot that feels easily anticipated. The individuals involved just don’t have the same charm or appeal as Hughie, Butcher, Frenchie, MM, and Kimiko did. Despite those shortcomings, *GenV* is an acceptable continuation of the franchise; it doesn't break any new ground or offer anything fresh to the existing world. It isn’t unpleasant to view, and I’m on the edge about whether or not a second season would be worthwhile. 6/10
