The initial seasons of The Boys had some good parts, though they weren’t flawless, and at least held my attention. Gen V, however, seems more like a standard young adult series with superhero elements tacked on. I thought the premiere was impossible to get through; the graphic depiction of menstruation certainly didn't help. Ultimately, it comes across as an unenthusiastic teen drama possessing a hazy sense of superheroes. To clarify, I’ve seen the other commentary available and did watch a portion of that first episode, so my comments are based on what I observed. I believe I made my reasons for disliking it fairly clear. I do wonder though, why TMDB lacks any oversight.
