While the narrative itself has an original quality, the show’s rhythm sometimes causes it to feel slow. There were moments where I anticipated a pivotal point, only for that anticipation to be abruptly cut short, which left me feeling puzzled and let down. The conclusion proved particularly frustrating. I was expecting all of the history to finally come to light, but instead, the series concluded prematurely, with significant pieces still unsaid. It seems like this might have been intentional, a way to set up future installments, though I’m not convinced I'll return for another season. The performances were excellent, however. Yagira Yuya was my primary motivation for watching and he consistently delivered. Baisho Mitsuko-san, portraying Goto Gin, the grandmother, gave a performance that was genuinely unsettling. The musical score also effectively amplified the tension and suspense throughout. It’s an acceptable show overall, but I strongly dislike when a series is cut off without resolution simply to manufacture a follow-up.
