Synopsis

Horii’s career in games commenced in 1983, though prior to that he worked as a freelance writer. However, his passion for games propelled him to participate in an Enix game design contest in 1982, the same competition that would see Koichi Nakamura, another member of the Dragon Quest team, enter. Horii’s submission was a game titled Love Match Tennis. Both his and Nakamura's games were subsequently published, marking the beginning of Horii's ascent.
