The initial episodes are captivating and draw you in with well-developed characters who seem genuinely interesting. There’s a significant amount of sexuality, nudity, dragons, magical elements, and brutal fight scenes throughout. However, as events unfold, many of those initially appealing figures either meet unfortunate ends or lose their strength, which leaves the audience strangely wanting to see the previously disliked villains succeed in eliminating the characters portrayed as "good." Beginning around season 3, the show veers considerably from the original book storyline, a consequence of the creator struggling with the writing. Whether this change ultimately improved the series is debatable, and depends on how invested someone is in the remaining female characters to discover what happens next. The conclusion appeared to disappoint many viewers.
