I was prompted to check this out because of all the praise surrounding it. It made me chuckle recalling a review for another well-regarded series that surpassed Game of Thrones in ratings; the reviewer stated it was decent but only warranted one star simply due to its higher ranking than GOT. That led me to think, I should probably see what all the fuss is about with this show that has so many dedicated fans. I anticipated something akin to Lord of the Rings, amplified, but I’m not sure what substance fuels it. The environments and people feel believable, and the scheming storylines initially appeared logical. However, my engagement lessened as the series progressed. Certain characters who seemed intricate at first became fairly standard, two-dimensional figures. And goodness, the frequency of sexual assaults. While I acknowledge that such acts were likely prevalent in that kind of society, it seems like even Ancient Rome, portrayed in the acclaimed series *Rome*, found more varied ways to be provocative than relying solely on non-consensual encounters. Therefore, I have to admit I didn’t finish watching the show, but from what I've heard, even those who are ardent supporters were disappointed with how it concluded.
