The initial episodes of this series were remarkable, reminiscent of some of the very best productions available. For the first four seasons, it adhered closely to the narrative presented in the source novels, incorporating only small changes while also benefiting from impressive visual effects and high-quality camerawork—it was genuinely fantastic. I found myself completely captivated, rating it a perfect 10/10, eagerly devouring all the books and rewatching previous seasons in anticipation of each new installment. Unfortunately, starting with season five, the quality began to decline noticeably. It became apparent that the creative team had exhausted the available material from the books, and this was evident in the subsequent episodes. The focus shifted toward large-scale action sequences, while the characters lost much of their depth and became quite formulaic. A sense of invincibility seemed to be granted to all the primary figures, a characteristic previously absent that contributed significantly to the earlier appeal of the series. While it might seem as though some main characters could meet an end, this ultimately feels like a false promise. I’ve continued watching these later seasons solely to witness the resolution of the storyline, but each episode has been accompanied by discomfort and frustration. It's disheartening to see such a promising story conclude in this manner. I am hoping that the books will provide a more satisfying and credible ending.
