This series falls into that familiar romantic entanglement pattern popular around 2000, and it sticks closely to that established style. There’s an understanding going in that the plot won't be grounded in reality or make a lot of sense, which usually adds to the enjoyment by letting things play out dramatically. But this show really pushed the boundaries of what viewers might find acceptable regarding its implausibility, particularly with how they handled the female lead's circle of friends—it felt incredibly careless and poorly conceived. I doubt the writer gave that initial situation more than a passing thought. The actors are genuinely what made it possible to keep watching, from the primary roles to the supporting older characters; the two friends were an exception. The way things wrapped up and the romantic elements themselves seemed disconnected from the personalities we’d seen, likely because they delayed developing genuine connection between the main characters until very late in the story, essentially the final episode. Ultimately, it was just an okay drama.
