Rachel’s surprise at learning Ross would be accompanied to Joey’s premiere was quickly mirrored when she, too, secured a date. Ross himself privately deemed her companion quite peculiar. Elsewhere, Phoebe endured days of frustrating hold music with a company she needed to reach before her phone warranty expired. As for Joey's play, the reviews were disastrous, though a kind word from a fellow performer offered a small measure of solace.
