Synopsis

Franklin clutched his newly minted library card, a thrill of responsibility coursing through him as he selected his first book. The weight of it in his hands felt significant, a privilege newly earned. But fate, it seemed, had a dampening lesson in store. Returning home, he discovered his book exposed to the rain, and a wave of dismay washed over him as he attempted to conceal the damage.
