Synopsis

On routine patrol of a public park, a police officer discovered a woman’s body. She had been fatally stabbed, and at autopsy, the medical examiner preserved the section of her rib cage that bore the wound. Days later, a knife believed to be the murder weapon was recovered, two thousand miles distant. This presented a rare opportunity for forensic scientists to compare the microscopic marks on the weapon with those on the victim’s bone.
