Synopsis

He was dispatched to what appeared to be a routine traffic accident, but the sight within the vehicle stole his breath. Though lacking formal forensic training, years spent at accident scenes had prepared him for much, but never for this. The amount of blood was shocking. The coroner's initial ruling of accidental death felt wrong, and then a cryptic phone call, made by an unknown voice, ignited a renewed urgency within him.
