Synopsis

In Baton Rouge, 2012, nineteen-year-old Essence Dyson, a bright college student with a deep love for hip-hop, discovers a kindred spirit in seventeen-year-old Chattley Chesterfield, known as Chad the Youngin, a rapper on the rise. Their connection deepens, but when a minor dispute escalates to violence, Essence faces a difficult choice: unwavering loyalty to her lover or the strength to forge her own path.
