Synopsis

In Thailand, Miyata fought a boxer of lesser standing. The arbitrator’s decision, though open to interpretation, reflected a general dislike for the Japanese fighter, who seemed to attract opponents eager for an easy victory. Yet, the young prodigy refused to yield to a new challenge, defying his father's wishes to move him up in weight. For Miyata, such a shift was unthinkable; he could not abandon Ippo. It was a matter of principle – he would not shy away from adversity.
