Fathers Ted and Dougal submitted “My Lovely Horse” to A Song for Europe. The melody was lifted from a lesser-known track, the B-side of a Norwegian song that failed even to secure victory in its own national contest, but the lyrics were entirely their creation. Remarkably, they progressed to Eurovision, where the performance resulted in… absolutely no points.
