Synopsis

Fiona Bruce and Philip Mould examine a fragile sketch portraying a mother and child, attributed to Amedeo Modigliani, one of the most celebrated figures in modern art. Henrietta Sitwell, the artwork’s owner, inherited it and maintained a steadfast belief in its authenticity. Recently, however, a prominent auction house has questioned its genuineness.
