Synopsis

Helping her mother, Betty Lou Beets, drag the body to the yard and bury it, Shirley Furgala understood, with a chilling certainty, that refusal would bring danger to herself. She did not realize then that this was not a singular request. It would not be the first, nor the last, time her mother would require such assistance.
