It’s disappointing to see yet another program begin with promise only to decline rapidly into silly, lowbrow humor. The lead actor, Jack Carter, initially portrays a character who is sharp, clever, and deliberate—at least in the very first episode. However, it seems the people in charge soon decided to transform him into someone deserving of ridicule. It's a recurring problem: so many television series take this unfortunate path.
