Synopsis

Finding work proved impossible for Benton after Romano’s actions had soured relations with the local hospitals. With growing desperation, he reluctantly accepted Romano’s insulting proposition: a per diem position at County, offering no benefits whatsoever. Meanwhile, Kovac and Abby were set upon by a mugger wielding a steel pipe. Injured in the attack, Kovac shielded Abby and repeatedly struck the robber's head against the pavement.
