Synopsis

A patient suffering from severe mental illness triggered a chaotic shootout within the emergency room. After brandishing a weapon and terrorizing those present, she was fatally shot by a police officer shortly thereafter. Later, Benton learned her dementia stemmed from a complication arising from a previous surgery – a consequence he and Cleo should have recognized. Meanwhile, Carter found himself increasingly drawn to a young intern.
