Synopsis

The ambitious second-year resident, Pratt, eager to demonstrate his skill, took the graveyard shift (eleven p.m. to seven a.m.). His attempts at proving himself occasionally misfired. On one such night, he displayed a dismissive attitude toward a patient, Ed Gamble, who presented with no apparent illness but experienced a sudden, temporary loss of speech.
