The initial episodes moved quickly, with abrupt editing and transitions. The narrative began immediately, offering little context or opportunity for viewers to settle in. While this initially grabbed attention, it didn't last long before the plot abruptly slowed down, pulling viewers out of the experience. This sudden deceleration damaged the foundation that had been established, and negatively impacted the overall progression. It felt as though the story took a turn for the worse too soon; perhaps around episodes 7 or 9. If the writers aimed to portray Ta Hwan as an extremely weak character, they certainly succeeded. Looking closer, there were numerous male characters who seemed overly fixated on the female lead, suggesting this drama was essentially a complicated reverse harem. Some of the supporting roles had interesting storylines, but others felt flat and underdeveloped, making it difficult to become invested in them despite their increased screen time. What’s more disappointing, many character deaths, even those of significant figures, felt rushed and lacked impact. The beginning was somewhat entertaining, regardless of the disorienting nature, but the drama never recovered from that sudden shift in pace.
