It’s hard to imagine something like this being produced now. Certain moments were genuinely unsettling; as a child, they really frightened me, which is why I was drawn to it initially. Now that I'm older, rewatching it provides enjoyment because of its campiness and the ability to recall those scenes that used to raise goosebumps in my younger self. Beyond that, it provided some interesting observations about society and also a look at classic MGM monster movies and cinema in general. Having seen so many low-budget horror and science fiction films over the years, I understand its influences, what it’s poking fun at, and where the humor originates—it's even sparked a fresh appreciation for it.
