Synopsis

A palpable strain hung in the air at the Fowlers', sharpened by Pauline’s pointed remarks to Martin and Sonia regarding their concealed truths. Later, at the allotments, Ian found Pauline and she confided in him about Chloe, revealing her intention to try and win her back. The news struck Ian with a sharp shock. Following Phil's capture, the police questioned Pat and Billy. Both maintained their story of ignorance concerning his affairs, and ultimately, they were released.
