Synopsis

“You could go to prison,” Pauline said to Arthur. “I want to call off the wedding to pay the money back.” Arthur shook his head. “It’s too late now. And remember, we have until Christmas to get it.” A worried silence fell between them. Then, as if struck by an idea, Pauline suggested, “We should tell people Arthur borrowed it from a cousin. If we can’t resolve this, the whole family will suffer.”
