Synopsis

Katrina describes her mother, Monica, with a weary familiarity. She is, in Katrina’s view, a woman of deceit and manipulation, prone to sudden, fierce anger, and ultimately incapable of navigating the complexities of adulthood. The situation at home is precarious; they are perpetually on the verge of homelessness. This instability has thrust Katrina into a parental role for her younger siblings, who are repeatedly exposed to circumstances far beyond their years.
