Synopsis

Kimberly maintains she had no alternative but to become the legal guardian of her then six-year-old niece. The child’s parents, burdened by a history of arrests and struggling with substance abuse, had been neglectful. Despite their current circumstances – they are presently residing in a homeless shelter – they desire the child's return.
