Synopsis

In 1988, Raylynn recounts being captivated by the persuasive charm of Curly Thornton and joining his itinerant evangelical group—a community she now characterizes as a cult. Though Curly passed away in 1999, Raylynn maintains he continues to exert a haunting, controlling influence over her life. She describes how she surrendered everything—her car, her home, her career—becoming wholly absorbed in Curly’s teachings.
