Synopsis

Matthew Crawley and his mother, Isobel, made their arrival at Downton with a sense of unease, finding little ease in their new surroundings. Carson, the housekeeper, was deeply troubled by a painful reminder of his history. Meanwhile, Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess, subtly maneuvered to encourage a union between Matthew and Mary. Isobel, demonstrating her commitment to the community, was elected to a position on the local hospital board.
