Synopsis

With her driver's license finally in hand, Lahela craved a taste of independence—a simple outing to Starbucks with her best friend, Steph, using her mother’s car. But Clara remained reluctant to relinquish the keys. Then, Rip Tide, the patient and well-known weatherman from the area, advised Lahela to embrace risk and take control of her own life. Lahela interpreted his words with a startling literalness, and, without permission, she took the family car.
