Synopsis

A peculiar pier extends 160 meters into Tokyo Bay from the sandy shores of Minami-Boso, Chiba. Constructed during the Taisho era (1912-1926) for facilitating fish landings, its purpose faded with the relocation of the fishing port some fifty years ago.
