Synopsis

Within the sprawling complex of a Kamakura City hospital, housing over six hundred beds, exists an unlikely hub: a twenty-four-hour convenience store. Its clientele is predominantly comprised of the hospital's staff – doctors, nurses – and the patients within its walls. A nurse indulges in a scoop of ice cream, a small reward after a demanding surgery. A patient, weary of confinement, has devoured more than ten books during his stay. Even in the depths of the night, doctors on call make nightly
