Synopsis

Located an hour and a half west of Tokyo on the Tomei Expressway lies Ashigara Service Area. A destination for travelers from every corner of society – sightseers drawn to Mount Fuji, families with pets, and truckers traversing Japan – it offers respite and refreshment. For three days, the camera records the ebb and flow of humanity through this twenty-four-hour hub, observing the reasons behind their journeys and the unspoken emotions that accompany them.
