Synopsis

In October of 2016, Iitate Village in Fukushima Prefecture held an extraordinary mayoral election. To reach the villagers, who had dispersed to various locations following the 2011 nuclear disaster, a ballot box embarked on a journey. One candidate championed a return to the village, while the other maintained that the area remained too perilous. Those who yearned to return did not wish to see their ancestral home fade with their generation, yet those who opposed the move still harbored anxietie
