Synopsis

Every year, Hofu Tenmangu shrine in Yamaguchi Prefecture hosts a "doll appreciation festival," offering a space for people to respectfully relinquish their cherished dolls. Among the visitors that day were those with stories woven into each figure: a man who had once displayed the dolls to bestow good fortune upon his daughter, a grandfather who had shared them with his grandchildren for three decades, and a woman who had crafted a doll in anticipation of her wedding, decades past.
