The current state of Doctor Who can be seen as symbolic of the changes the program has undergone. What began as an enjoyable science fiction series, occasionally prompting reflection, now carries an element of political correctness that often feels awkward, gloomy, preachy, and frankly, wearing. This isn’t helped by the fact that the lead character, the Doctor, seems uncertain about her role, which is understandable given the show's inconsistent tone. Perhaps it would benefit from being taken off the air for a while and then revived with a new perspective. Currently, it earns a rating of 3/10.
