Synopsis

Michael’s inaugural day as Chief of Internal Medicine is disrupted by the arrival of Joan, admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Amy, fiercely committed to saving her life, finds herself at odds with Richard regarding Joan's care. Elsewhere, Gina faces a profoundly difficult medical choice concerning a young patient, while Liz struggles to ensure her accusations against Richard are given due consideration.
