I’ve lost interest in Disenchantment. The initial episodes were promising, but the final season, which I believe will be the last, left me disappointed. Setting aside what I now expect from Netflix content—the usual progressive themes—there was a short but unpleasant jab directed at individuals who have reservations about the COVID vaccines. In my country, as in many others, people were pressured to receive these experimental treatments under threat of losing their jobs. Furthermore, mounting scientific data suggests that those with worries regarding the effectiveness and safety of these products might be justified in their concerns. It’s a matter still being examined, and not something to be disregarded lightly. Aside from this, the storytelling in season five was acceptable, but it seemed like the creative team was struggling for fresh concepts, resulting in a rather simplistic and unremarkable outcome. It wasn't particularly humorous either; instead, they relied on juvenile jokes about things like toilet humor. Seriously? Ultimately, I think this series should have concluded at least one season earlier. The original charm has vanished completely. Combined with its foray into political issues and progressive messaging, it became something I didn’t enjoy. I can't imagine there being another season, and if one does appear, I won't be tuning in.
