I’m speaking only from my own experience, but this Dexter revival or miniseries was something I really liked. It doesn’t reach the heights of season four, which remains exceptional, and maybe feels a little brief when measured against earlier seasons, however, it's certainly superior to anything that came after The Trinity Killer storyline. It was wonderful to see Michael C. Hall reprise his role as Dexter; his performance and the character itself are so compelling that you find yourself wanting to watch him. Jennifer Carpenter’s return as Debra works very well too, and the reappearance of Batista (played by David Zayas) is a welcome addition, alongside the new characters who also make a positive impression. I quickly became invested in the group of people involved, with Jack Alcott, Julia Jones, and Clancy Brown being particularly memorable. I would certainly be interested in seeing more. The narrative was quite captivating; it created moments of genuine tension and discomfort for me. Some feel the pacing is too fast, and while I wouldn’t go that far, the final episodes do seem to move along quickly—but overall, I found it entertaining and am content with how things resolved, especially compared to the original series finale. It's surprising to see IMDb users rating the last episode as the lowest of the entire run; I think that criticism is unfair, almost disrespectful even. I’ve heard whispers about a possible continuation. I would be open to that, but I wouldn’t mind if this was the definitive end either.
