Uschi wakes up in a strange apartment with no memory of what happened. Next to her lies her landlord Wilhelm Inck, beaten to death in a huge pool of blood. Mick and Andreas have no choice but to arrest their old friend Uschi.

Mick notices a young woman, Annika, sitting huddled and distraught in front of the police headquarters. She claims to have killed her mother. Shortly afterwards, Mick and Andreas are in Annika's apartment. There is no sign of a body!

Carsten Wiechert is found dead in his apartment. Mick and Andreas quickly discover that Wiechert always came home in the middle of the night, even though the inn where he worked closed its doors much earlier.
