Synopsis

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” Janusz is a taxi driver. It is Christmas Eve, and he observes the Polish traditions of this sacred day: he gives gifts to his family and attends Midnight Mass. Later, Ewa, the woman with whom he had been unfaithful three years prior, asks for his assistance. Her husband is missing, and she implores him to help her search. Should Janusz remain at home, observing the sanctity of the day? Or should he aid Ewa, who claims a need for his help, in upholding
