Synopsis

L revealed to Light that he had manipulated the latter into writing in a false notebook, thereby exposing him as Kira. Following Light's confession, the remaining members of the task force entered the warehouse only to find L deceased, a victim of Mikami’s actions. Since only L had been privy to the confession, Light persuaded his colleagues that L had, in a final act of self-preservation, written his real name and concealed it within the false notebook.
