This series centers on young adults navigating a zombie apocalypse. Expect romance, deception, physical altercations, rival groups, and naturally, zombies! The story weaves together current events with flashbacks, and it occasionally shifts perspectives among different characters. Each character carries a history of hardship that shapes their choices and affiliations in the present day. They undergo significant development throughout the initial season, culminating in an unexpected conclusion. I really enjoyed this show! The undead weren't the usual, predictable kind; they were distinctive and original, much like most aspects of the series. It’s great to see a red-haired actor in a central role—do you think redheads have been unfairly sidelined? It feels like something that hasn’t gotten enough attention. This show offers a fresh take on the zombie genre, which has become tired and predictable. Even familiar character archetypes get interesting new interpretations: the cheerleaders are fierce and reject men, the athletes are manipulated by an unstable figure, and the international students aren't as naive as they initially appear. The way they switch narrators is also unique; it’s done by having one character essentially take over the storytelling role. Angelica quickly became my favorite—she compensates for her age with intelligence and a tough demeanor that she uses to protect herself. Sam, on the other hand, felt a little forced. She seems overly preoccupied with how others perceive her and delivers lengthy speeches about individuality, which makes me question whether her seemingly compassionate nature is genuine. If you were a fan of Zombieland, I suggest giving this series a try; it has a similar blend of humor and action and is perfect for binge-watching.
